Batley East Candidate & Vice chair
Keiron Gavaghan is Vice Chairman (Membership) of the Batley and Spen Association. An active member of the party he has helped to grow the membership by nearly 150% over the last 3 years. Originally from Batley Keiron has always taken a keen interest in local issues especially those relating to crime, employment, and the local environment. Following schooling in the local town Keiron went on to university before returning to Batley to start his first business at Batley Technology Centre. This business proved to be a success and at the age of just 26 Kerion was able to orchestrate a sale to a private equity firm.
Since then, Keiron has been able to start a new IT and Energy Consultancy, although now based in Wakefield a few of the team still originate from and live in around Batley. Keiron is a keen fundraiser and has donated to several local and national charities including raising nearly £20,000 for the local air ambulances. His next project is a sponsored channel swim to help raise money for the British Liver Trust as well as raise awareness around ulcerative colitis, a challenging and debilitating disease.
Keiron still lives in Batley with his wife and 2 daughters who attend the local school. Although he is a keen cyclist and motorcyclist Keiron really enjoys spending his time watching his daughters swimming for Spenborough swimming club or watching them play football for Howden Clough.
